This Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist is a one-woman operation: publicist, manager, booking agent, record label owner, visionary, producer and artist. Dividing her time between the US and Australia, Martine has toured with Ani DiFranco and rocked the stage with The Cowboy Junkies, Arlo Guthrie and Luka Bloom. Martine reaches well outside of the scene with a more independent, passionate perspective on music, and shares vocal qualities with Melissa Etheridge and the Indigo Girls. Musically her folk-rock tunes range in sound from the Counting Crows to Alanis Morissette to Carol King. In 1996 Martine began acoustic duo The Velvet Janes, releasing four albums. Martine has spent the past four years solidly touring the U.S performing at house concerts, colleges and festivals.
