Why we do what we do... what people are saying about Milwaukee's PrideFest. This page is about sharing some of the many comments we've received from the festival's attendees, performers and the media. We are proud of the work we do, but comments like these give us the extra motivation to put countless volunteer hours into producing one of the nation's most unique and dynamic pride events. One of the best experiences of my career! ... the atmosphere of PrideFest is bona fide Milwaukee, in all its generous, playful, proud glory. Holy ****! That was an amazing crowd! [Margaret] Cho has been workshopping material at a number of GLBT-related events like OutSpokane in Washington and more locally, Milwaukee PrideFest, which Cho says is absolutely fantastic. "... The people that were performing and the people that were participating [were] pretty amazing." I love how open and inviting everyone seems to be. You can wear what you want, speak how you do, kiss who you love and NO ONE JUDGES! It's a beautiful thing. Great place to meet new friends. The food is wonderful and the concerts are awesome. We had a great time at our first PrideFest in 2007 and are planning to come back again this year! I found it very exciting and empowering. It was great to see people like myself and feel that I was not being and/or doing anything bad. I felt like ... myself. It was liberating. PrideFest is a must for everyone... what a great weekend that we look forward to and plan every year. Keep up the great work. PrideFest inspired us to start an organization in our community that puts on large scale social events. You are making a difference. Never forget that. Loved the open air entertainment. Love the absolute diversity of attendees. PrideFest is the best time because I can feel 100% free to be myself and free to show affection to my partner openly without looking around first. I go there all three days each year just so I can feel rejuvenated for the rest of the year. I flippin love PrideFest!! It makes me so happy to see all the families there and to see everyone able to be themselves!! I have been going to Milwaukee pride for 5 years now and every year I still cannot believe how friendly everyone is toward one another and how many gays and lesbians are actually out! Thank you Milwaukee Pride!!!! I love coming every year. I started coming when I was 16 and now that I'm 26 with children of my own, I bring them with me and we have a great time as a family. |
