A native of Chicago, John Murges began his DJ career in the late 90’s. Since then, he’s worked diligently to perfect his craft.

A key word in describing John’s style of play is versatile.

John has played and held residencies at some of Milwaukee’s largest, and well-known clubs (Three, Tom Tom, Pure, LaCage, Decibel) as well as numerous bars & restaurants (Cuvee, Good Life, Red Light, Trocadero, Hi Hat, Moct, Zen-Den, Fluid, Woody’s, SWS Docks, Harbor Room, Intermezzo, Orbit, Club Boom, Vivo Urban Grill, Balzac). He’s played for special events like the Milwaukee Art Museum’s First Fridays and Milwaukee’s PrideFest, as well as charity events such as ARCW’s Make a Promise, AIDS Walk Wisconsin, and numerous other events benefiting Milwaukee’s gay community and HIV/AIDS organizations.

John also performs at art openings as well as fashion and retail events. He often plays in other cities, including Chicago, where he’s played at Domaine, Blonde, Cesar’s (for Chicago’s Gay Pride Parade in both 2006 and 2007), and at Kafka Wine Company (for Northalsted Street Market Days in 2005 and 2006). He currently holds a monthly residency at Mary’s Attic, in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. For six years John was the resident DJ at one of Chicago’s largest Halloween parties; and in 2005 John played at Excalibur Nightclub, where he was a participant in the Fireball DJ Showcase.

He’s opened for nationally known DJs such as Andy Caldwell, Joe Gauthreaux. and Tony Moran and Ralphi Rosario.

John currently holds weekly residencies at Decibel, Three, and the Abbey, both in Milwaukee. He is one of the founders of, and a resident DJ for PUMP! Milwaukee, an entertainment and promotion team that produces weekly bar nights, special events for Milwaukee’s gay community, and since 2006 has produced the Dance Pavilion at PrideFest.

Musically, John’s tastes run all across the board. Depending upon the venue and event, John can mix just about any musical genre ranging from progressive, vocal, and disco house to lounge and down tempo; so he’s well suited to play in a club environment, at corporate events, or any celebration.
