The PrideFest Pride Guide Director will lead the development and production
of the annual Pride Guide publication. Published prior to the PrideFest,
Pride Guide activities include developing size and content of the publication;
development and selection of pictures/articles regarding PrideFest and
community activities; developing and maintaining an advertising vendor
database; soliciting advertising vendors for ad content; working with
advertisers to support their ad needs; developing new concepts to add
a fresh appeal to the Guide; and developing brochure and poster content
(in conjunction with the PR and Marketing Directors). The Pride Guide
Director will also attend fundraising events and pride festivals to
help promote the festival. The PrideFest Pride Guide Director will plan/organize/manage
the Pride Guide in all aspects including distribution to outlets prior
to PrideFest, and any other duties that may be assigned by the Co-Producers.
TIME COMMITMENT
The PrideFest Pride Guide Director is a Production Team position. As
a member, the PrideFest Pride Guide Director is expected to be a full
participant at Production Team meetings and vote on issues brought before
the Production Team. The PrideFest Pride Guide Director will host separate
sub committee meetings specific to the Pride Guide development if necessary.
The PrideFest Pride Guide Director must be available to assist in mailings
and returning phone calls from supporters inquiring about the Pride
Guide during the evening hours as required. The PrideFest Pride Guide
Director is also expected to be present to assist in planning and implementing
the distribution of the Pride Guide at locations throughout the Midwest
and beyond. The PrideFest Pride Guide Director is also responsible for
preparing budgets and ensuring compliance of those budgets.
PRODUCTION TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
The PrideFest Pride Guide Director will provide reports to the Production
Team on a regular basis, as to how many advertisers have been received,
approved and how development is going on a monthly basis. The PrideFest
Pride Guide Director will provide recommendations to the Production
Team for further directives.

that effectively promotes PrideFest and its advertising sponsors;
- The desire to work as a team-player with a dedicated
group of volunteers who's sole objective is producing the best possible
Pride festival in the Midwest;
- Self-motivation is A MUST! PrideFest depends on volunteers for
follow-through on all ideas and tasks;
- Excellent people skills, including the ability to work with
people from all walks of life;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent computer skills, with experience in M/S Word and Excel.
